 About this Songwriter   :::::::::::::::::

LoCash Cowboys is Preston Brust and Chris Lucas.  City slicker Chris was born and raised outside Baltimore, MD, while country boy Preston, born in Dermott, Arkansas, grew up in Kokomo, IN.

Despite their different surroundings, they were both immersed in music.  They listened to and sang soul classics, rock, pop and country.

Chris began performing early, both dancing to and signing country and R&B standards solo and in groups.  Meanwhile, Preston belted gospel standards in church and began to write his own country songs.  Separately but at the same time, they began to ask, “What if?”  What if they could infuse country music with a classic soul vibe?  What if they could incorporate the dance presence of their R&B heroes into country entertainment?  What if they put the “funk paddles” on country music and yelled “Clear!”?  What if they could stretch country music’s big tent just a bit further than it had ever been stretched?

To answer those questions, they both moved to Nashville and met (some would say) by happenstance.  These two brothers (musically speaking) that hit it off on so many levels when introduced, they just knew they had to team up, and they did.

Fast forward two years and the LoCash Cowboys have answered their “what if” questions - people respond.  Male, female, young, old, it doesn’t matter - they all raise their hands, shout out loud, and rock along with LoCash, simply because it’s impossible not to.  You can’t come to a LoCash show and not leave without an ear-to-ear grin.  No singing sticks, these two - their show is something you experience with all known senses, plus a couple you didn’t know you had.  LoCash is not something you listen to, it’s something you want to be a part of.

LoCash has touched down in Wisconsin, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Indiana, Arkansas, and everywhere in between. They’ve gone to Seattle (twice) to do corporate gigs for Starbucks and Expedia.  To keep the hometown fans happy, they’ve established a mini-residency at the world famous Tootsie’s in Nashville when they get a break from the road.  When the LoCash Cowboys aren’t performing live, they manage to squeeze in a little time in front of the camera.  First, CMT featured them in an episode of its original program “Popularity Contest” - not to mention their involvement with the last two Flame Worthy Award shows.  Now, the boys are at it again, this time with country legend Tanya Tucker in a series on TLC called “Tuckerville”.

Ultimately, you must experience the LoCash Cowboys for yourself. Then you’ll know, LoCash is not just a band.  It’s an attitude that works hard and sees no boundaries.  It’s making something great where there was nothing.  It’s about good fun with both your close friends and people you just met.  So tie yourself to the tracks and let the LoCash train run you over - they promise, it hurts so good!
