Dianna Gatto: Dianna Gatto is originally from San Jose, CA, and a graduate of Berklee College of Music. She’s lived/played in Boston, Portland, OR, all over the Bay Area, LA, and now Nashville, TN.
Influences include, Glen Phillips (and Toad the Wet CDs: "Angel", EP, 1999 and "Words to You", 2001 (both available on Cdbaby.com) and various more recent demos that she hands out at shows... While in California, her home away from home is Willow Glen Coffee Roasting Co., although she’s also performed at Britannia Arms in downtown SJ, the Blue Rock Shoot in Saratoga, Mr. Toots Coffeehouse in Capitola, No Name Bar in Sausalito, Nicky’s Barbeque on Haight St. in San Francisco, The Hotel Utah in San Francisco, and City Lights Espresso and Mission City Café, in Santa Clara, not to mention several Borders and Barnes and Nobles in the Bay Area. Dianna was featured at the Saratoga Art and Wine Festival and Willow Glen’s “Dancing on the Avenue”. She also became a member of NSAI, LAWIM, and NCSA, and participated in showcases related to those organizations both in Los Angeles and in Northern California. She resided in Portland, OR for the year of 2001, and played at the Medicine Hat, Mount Tabor Acoustic Room, the Laurelthirst, Willamette University’s “Wulapalooza” Festival, Portland’s Small Business event, “Starve-Ups Square”, the Snake and Weasel, and, of course, her favorite weekly haunt, Produce Row Café. She transplanted to Nashville in Feb. 2004. With and without a band, she’s played Caffeine, Terri Jo Box’s Dan McGuinness Girls night, Edgehill Studios, Pie in the Sky, Café Coco, Bongo Java, and Studio 515’s Hurricane Benefit Concert. “Out of all of my past venues, I would have to say that it was really special to be involved in the Studio 515 Hurricane Relief Concert, Sept. 25th. Although we were "Rained In" by the second hurricane, people still showed up and stuck through the whole event. We had several amazing performances, including those from Robin English, Jeffrey Steele, Jody Evans (of Nashville Star), Douglas & Hawk, Crystal Yoakum, Hollie Poole, and Scott Southworth. I felt honored to play among such great talent-not to mention that the event raised an impressive amount of $ for the Red Cross. Everyone should do what they can, and share in spreading that message of love.” While her website is currently being redesigned, please look for her schedule on www.myspace.com/diannagatto |
