 About this Songwriter   :::::::::::::::::

Brittini Black

Brittini Black was born with music in her soul. According to her mother, Brittini started singing herself to sleep at age three. “It wasn’t just the fact that she was singing, she sang songs on pitch,” says Sandra Lee. By the time she was eight years old, Brittini was singing harmonies. By age 12, as a member of mother-daughter duo Sandra Lee & Brittini, a plan had been mapped out to pursue a career in music.

A few years later, Sandra Lee & Brittini were opening for superstar country acts including Lonestar, Sammy Kershaw, Billy Ray Cyrus, Wade Hayes, Rick Trevino and Kenny Rogers. Three of their original songs received airplay on country radio stations KWNR and KFMS in Las Vegas, and in other west coast cities. One of the most memorable and amazing opportunities for the duo was opening for Diamond Rio at the world renowned Grand Ole Opry House. Brittini was accepted to attend Belmont University – widely known for their prestigious music performance and music business programs – and moved to Nashville in 1999. She has performed at many popular local venues including the Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner, Radio Cafe, Market Street Brewery, French Quarter, the Wildhorse Saloon, and Borders Books where she co-hosted open mic nights with Sandra Lee.

Brittini began doing many solo projects and performances during her time at Belmont. In 2000, as a sophomore, she was selected to perform in Belmont’s Commercial Music Showcase. In 2001, Brittini performed in Belmont’s “Country Showcase”, and was selected from that group to perform in Belmont’s most prestigious showcase, “The Best of the Best” which was held at the Ryman Auditorium in April 2002. Brittini was selected again to perform in both Belmont’s “Country Showcase” held in November 2002 and the “Commercial Music Showcase” in February of 2003. Providing her vocal talents for demos in Nashville, Brittini’s voice can be heard on cuts from some of country music’s top-notch writers circulating the publishing companies up and down Music Row. She also has a love of expressing her feelings through her own songs, and has written with many of the greatest songwriters in town, including Tammy Hyler (“I Love You” – Martina McBride and “I Can Still Feel You” – Collin Raye); Steve Diamond ( “I Can Love You Like That” – John Michael Montgomery and “Let Me Let Go” – Faith Hill); Tom Douglas (“Little Rock” – Collin Raye, “God’s Will” and “Love’s the Only House” – Martina McBride); Phil Barnhart (Broken Wing- Martina McBride); Victoria Shaw (“The River” – Garth Brooks); Paul Overstreet (“Love Can Build A Bridge- The Judds and “Forever and Ever, Amen”- Randy Travis) and many others.

Brittini regularly plays out around town and has a monthly gig at Douglas Corner called, “BLACK MONDAYS”, where she invites a well-known songwriter to come be a guest and play songs they have written together, along with a few of their other well-known hits. Brittini also plays a variety of instruments, including piano, flute, guitar and her newest passion- the mandolin. Known for her extremely soulful vocals, Brittini hopes to add a new element to country music. Excited about what the future holds, she is confident that she’ll be involved in the music industry for the rest of her life. Honest, authentic and spiritual, Brittini Black is blessed with the all the essentials of an artist with “it” star quality and staying power. You’re just gonna love her!
